Nestled in the charming village of Gonia, just 10km from Rethymnon town, Ioanna’s beautifully renovated stone house offers a romantic atmosphere, inviting you to immerse yourself in the authentic Cretan way of life.

Ioanna’s house embodies the absolute charm of a traditional Cretan village house, carefully renovated and furnished with romantic touches true to its heritage.
From the moment you step into the courtyard of Ioanna’s house, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, promising delightful days and friendly evenings ahead. Here, you can savor authentic Cretan delicacies grilled over charcoal in the built-in barbecue. The courtyard retains its old Cretan charm, seamlessly blending with the spacious veranda on the first floor.
Before stepping into the main house, in the courtyard, to the left, you’ll find the private entrance to the first bedroom—a separate suite complete with air conditioning, two single beds (which can be joined together), and its own private ensuite WC. As you enter the main house on the ground floor, you’re greeted by the open-plan kitchen and dining-living area. The kitchen is fully equipped, and for chilly winter evenings, there’s a cozy fireplace. The living area features a satellite TV and Wi-Fi accessible throughout the house. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with a shower and two washbasins. If there are more than six people, one additional camp bed can be set up in the living-dining area, which offers enough space.
Ascending the stairs to the first floor, you’ll find two additional bedrooms and one more WC. One bedroom offers air conditioning and a double bed with a canopy, perfectly complementing the romantic ambiance of the house. The second bedroom, although slightly smaller, features a bed measuring 130x200cm. The veranda on the first floor offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area and a table there is perfect for enjoying meals or lounging in the hammock. Despite being a stone-built house and naturally cool in the summer, fans are provided for added comfort if needed.
